FC Barcelona right-back Hector Bellerin has recently praised his former coach Mikel Arteta amidst all the new rumours.
After a dreadful last season, FC Barcelona made quite a few big signings during the last summer window. The Blaugrana signed players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin.
The summer signings soon adapted to the new club and made their impact. Barcelona got a great start to La Liga. They won ten out of their first twelve matches. With thirty-one points, the Catalan giants are currently in the second position in the table.
However, their performance in there UEFA Champions League have been quite different. After winning the first match, the Catalan giants lost three out of the next four matches. As a result, they were knocked out of the group stage and relegated to the Europa League for the second time in a row.
Barcelona Right-Back Praised Arteta
After the poor string of results in the UEFA Champions League, there were reports that Xavi Hernandez might lose his job. And interestingly the first name who got linked as the replacement of Xavi was Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta.
Since joining Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has slowly transformed the Gunners into one of the strongest teams in England. Now Arteta’s side have got a great start to their English Premier League campaign. They have won ten out of their first twelve matches and are currently at the top of the EPL table.
A former La Masia graduate, Arteta showed the world once again that following a clear process is the only way of going forward. Former Arsenal player Hector Bellerin thinks the same.
While speaking ahead of their match against Viktoria Plzen, Bellerin said, “In football, in general, there is less and less patience.”
“There is clear evidence of how important the process is. In England, it has happened with Guardiola, Klopp and Arteta,” he further added.
Hector Bellrin joined Barcelona from Arsenal on the deadline day of the last transfer window. So far the right-back has failed to stamp his authority at Camp Nou. He has suffered injury issues which did not help him to get regular minutes.
As a result, Barcelona have started to look for another right-back in the winter market. Bellerin however, still has some time to recover his form and reach the level he used to play at Arsenal. The Barcelona fullback has previously spent ten years with the Gunners and won three FA Cup trophies with them.
Hector Bellerin played full 90 minutes in Barcelona’s 4-2 victory over Viktoria Plzen. Barcelona now have two more matches in la Liga before the World Cup break. They will hope to get full points and keep the pressure on Real Madrid.
