HITC understands that Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is set to be rewarded for his performances at Stamford Bridge with a new and improved contract.
Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City back in the summer of 2023, Cole Palmer has proven himself to be one of the best players in the Premier League for the Blues.
Palmer was selected for England’s Euro 2024 squad and made an impact as the Three Lions reached the final of the competition before suffering a defeat to Spain in the final.
Sources have told HITC that Chelsea intends to reward Palmer with a new contract this summer.
Chelsea agree new Palmer contract
HITC sources can confirm that Palmer has agreed a new nine-year contract which is one of the biggest in Chelsea’s history.
Palmer has been rewarded for his progress which has seen him become one of the hottest properties in Europe since arriving at the club last summer.
We had previously reported that Chelsea intended to open contract talks with Palmer and now the Englishman has agreed to the new deal.
Chelsea had no worries they would lose Palmer – sources have told HITC that they are aware that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich had started to pay attention to his performances, following a breakthrough campaign in the Premier League for the Blues.
Chelsea have agreed to make him one of the highest-paid players at Stamford Bridge and the England international has been quick to agree terms.
Chelsea fully expect to announce the deal this month, even before the start of the Premier League season with the Blues taking on Palmer’s former club Manchester City this weekend in the opening game of the campaign.
Conor Gallagher in limbo as Chelsea departure stalls
HITC understands that Conor Gallagher’s situation at Chelsea remains in limbo as the Blues insist that they waiting for Atletico Madrid to finalise his capture.
Gallagher had agreed to a move to Atletico Madrid but the deal to take the English midfielder to the Wanda Metropolitano has yet to be ratified.
Chelsea are still talking to Atletico about a possible deal for Joao Felix – but they insist the deals have and will remain separate.
Samu Omorodion looked set to move to Chelsea but the deal to take Samu to Stamford Bridge collapsed earlier this week.
Gallagher is due back in England on Tuesday, whilst Atletico continue talks to get a deal done for the Chelsea academy graduate.
