Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Netherlands national football team attacker Memphis Depay, according to multiple reports.
Memphis Depay, who has fallen down the pecking order at FC Barcelona, has been heavily linked with an exit from the Catalan outfit in the January transfer window. The Dutchman’s departure is now imminent after reaching agreement with Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
Memphis Depay joined Barcelona in the summer of 2021 for a free transfer. The Dutch attacker signed a two-year contract with the Catalan outfit upon joining the club.
The 28-year-old has struggled for game time at Barcelona in the ongoing 22/23 campaign. He has only featured in four games for Barcelona so far this season. He was also an unused substitute when Barcelona secured a 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier this week.

Depay will sign a contract that runs until 2025 with Atletico Madrid. That means Depay will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Atletico Madrid
Depay’s arrival will bolster the attacking department of Atletico Madrid. The Madrid-based outfit recently loaned out highly-rated Portuguese attacker Joao Felix to Premier League side Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
