FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has said he would love to see Lionel Messi return to the Catalan outfit in the future.
Until leaving Barcelona in the summer of 2021 after his contract with the club had expired, Lionel Messi had spent the entirety of his club football career at the Spanish side. The Argentine superstar wanted to stay at Barcelona beyond that, but the La Liga side could not retain his services due to financial and structural obstacles.
Lionel Messi then joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. He has since been playing for Paris Saint-Germain. After enduring a rather underwhelming 21/22 season with PSG, Messi has looked back to his best in the ongoing campaign.
Lionel Messi has been sensational for Paris Saint-Germain so far this season. But he has entered the final six months of his contract with the French heavyweights. He has not yet signed a contract extension with PSG. Some have speculated that Messi could return to Barcelona.
